Alice Shields
Alice Shields works from her studio in Bristol making a range of hand made ceramic brooches and cufflinks, to coasters, mugs and house signs.
These are each decorated with illustrated decals taken from her own watercolour and pen drawings.
Her inspiration is found in the great outdoors spying on birds and insects to the imaginary ideal home.
Even those pesky moths that have taken a fancy to her woollen wardrobe are featured in her work.
Humour plays a key role in the narrative of her work; creating pieces which reflect the characteristics of being British.
